What Once Was

Artist Statement: “What Once Was” is a multimedia piece that uses an image transfer as it’s main element, along with other artistic techniques, to create an immersive experience. My goal was to capture the feeling I had when I saw this castle in person-I found myself asking, “What was life like back when this castle was first built?”

Order and Ornament

Artist Statement: “Order and Ornament” is a pen & ink drawing utilizing the central focus of perspective, and point of view to guide the viewer’s eyes into the drawing of a grand room. For this piece, I wanted the viewer to pay particular attention to the architecture and detail, so I thought pen & ink would be a good medium to use for its contrast and clear lines.

"The Weeknd" Imagined

Artist Statement: "The Weeknd Imagined" is a multimedia work featuring the famous musician and artist "The Weeknd". The piece incorporates an image transfer of the Weeknd and a layered and chaotic background in reference to his brilliant mind and prolific career. I used oil pastels to highlight some of his albums and songs.

Artist Statement: "Dream House, 1st floor" is a final technical draft of my dream house floor plan. I worked through many rough drafts and revisions to get to a place where I was satisfied. It was important to me that the design emphasize an open floor plan and that the spaces flowed nicely from one to another.

Artist Statement: "Dream House, 2nd floor" is a technical floor plan drawing of the 2nd floor of my dream house in quarter scale. The creation of this work utilized tools such as a scale, T-square, triangle, pencils, templates, and eraser shield.

Rendered Wild

Artist Statement: "Rendered Wild" is a digital work created using Photoshop. Using an image of a cheetah cub, I reworked it and created a pixelated version of it. The work reinterprets the organic form of a wild animal into a composition built from angular planes of color and light. The difference in pixelated scales reflects the large and small details, and the contrasts between them.

What The Future May Hold

Artist Statement: “What The Future May Hold” is a composition of a mysterious figure holding the burning earth and a flaming landscape background. This idea was inspired by the piece “Plague of Plastic” by Jane Kirkwood, and was intended to reference the problems of pollution and global warming, and what can happen if there is nothing done about it.

Lunar Mountain Dreams

Artist Statement: "Lunar Mountain Dreams" is a work that I created to reflect the interesting and mysterious nature of a moonlit landscape. The piece was created using acrylic paint on paper and the use of sharp brush painting techniques. The contrast of cool secondary colors brings out the definition of the different landscape features.

Enemies Are Watching

Artist Statement: "Enemies Are Watching" utilizes soft cut rubber to create negative space for print making on paper with acrylic paint and a brayer. The piece was inspired by lyrics from the song "Enemy" by "Imagine Dragons", and by a feature character from the show "Arcane". She feels unjustly judged and misunderstood by everyone. This eventually leads to mental issues, hence the demons surrounding her.

Floor Plan of My House

Artist Statement: "Floor Plan of My House" is a technical final draft of the home that I grew up in. I executed on site measurements, a rough draft sketch from memory using those measurements, and then refined the drafts to create the final drawing.

Marina Bay Sands small scale model

Artist Statement: "Marina Bay Sands small scale model" is a three dimensional 1/600 scale model of the Singapore resort Marina Bay Sands. The model features all aspects of the building including its unique angular curved structure and its cruise ship-like skypark featured on the three main high rises.

Creativity of Architecture

Artist Statement: “Creativity of Architecture” is a deconstruction of the elements of buildings and a sunset. It is broken down by planes and color shifts, each block getting its own treatment. I utilized the complimentary, secondary color tones of orange and purple to create a pleasing contrast. This piece is my way of showing that architecture can be fun and creative.
