What Once Was

Medium: Mixed media: image transfer, copic markers, micron pens, and watercolor on paper

Year: 2025

Artist Statement: “What Once Was” is a multimedia piece that uses an image transfer as it’s main element, along with other artistic techniques, to create an immersive experience. My goal was to capture the feeling I had when I saw this castle in person-I found myself asking, “What was life like back when this castle was first built?”

Order and Ornament

Medium: Pen & Ink: Micron pens on paper

Year: 2025

Artist Statement:  “Order and Ornament” is a pen & ink drawing utilizing the central focus of perspective, and point of view to guide the viewer’s eyes into the drawing of a grand room. For this piece, I wanted the viewer to pay particular attention to the architecture and detail, so I thought pen & ink would be a good medium to use for its contrast and clear lines.

The difference in pixelated scales reflects the large and small details, and the contrasts between them.

This idea was inspired by the piece “Plague of Plastic” by Jane Kirkwood, and was intended to reference the problems of pollution and global warming, and what can happen if there is nothing done about it.

Lunar Mountain Dreams

Medium: Acrylic paint on paper

Year: 2024

Artist Statement:  "Lunar Mountain Dreams" is a work that I created to reflect the interesting and mysterious nature of a moonlit landscape. The piece was created using acrylic paint on paper and the use of sharp brush painting techniques. The contrast of cool secondary colors brings out the definition of the different landscape features.

Enemies Are Watching

Medium: Print making, acrylic paint on paper

Year: 2023

Artist Statement:  "Enemies Are Watching" utilizes soft cut rubber to create negative space for print making on paper with acrylic paint and a brayer. The piece was inspired by lyrics from the song "Enemy" by "Imagine Dragons", and by a feature character from the show "Arcane".  She feels unjustly judged and misunderstood by everyone. This eventually leads to mental issues, hence the demons surrounding her.

Creativity of Architecture

Medium: Collage: Acrylic paint, magazine clippings, and pen on paper

Year: 2024

Artist Statement: “Creativity of Architecture” is a deconstruction of the elements of buildings and a sunset. It is broken down by planes and color shifts, each block getting its own treatment.
